This site has been created to give troops and service units a place to host free websites and to connect with other leaders. You may visit the user created web sites by following the User Home Pages link. To create your own website, please login or register to gain access to the site. Once you are a member you will have the options to use the chat room, create blogs, create your own web space, and use the site webmail features.

Internet Safety
It is important to remember that information published on the web is available to anyone. There are individuals who may take advantage of your web site to take seemingly innocent information and use it to their advantage. THEREFORE, IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT SPECIFIC INFORMATION NOT BE POSTED ON YOUR WEBSITE.
To ensure the safety of girls and adults, your web site must:
· Use only first names of girls
· NEVER post addresses, phone numbers, email addresses of girls
· Always obtain written parental permission for all pictures used on your web site. In addition, written permission must be obtained for all pictures of adults used on your web site.
· Never list addresses of troop meeting places.
· Never post addresses for council program events.
· Never give directions to council program facilities (such as camps) or list their addresses or phone numbers.
When building a troop/group web site, it is also important to help the girls learn personal safety habits. Because the list is not complete and does not address every situation, girls should be instructed that if they have any doubts about any situation they encounter on-line, they should log off the internet immediately, and ask a parent or guardian for help. |
